Fehendhoo is one of the inhabited islands of Baa Atoll. It is 2.160 km long and 0.220 km wide and is 98.17 km (61 mi; 53 nmi) northwest of the country's capital, Malé City. The village is in the eastern part of Fehendhoo, the rest of the interior is a dense jungle with beautiful, sandy, shady paths leading to pretty pocket beaches. It is home to a population of about 300 people. The actual number of inhabitants of the island is less than this, and local children go to the school of the neighboring island of Goidhoo using a school boat instead of a school bus. Although the local language is Dhivehi, many can also speak in English. The island has 3 hotels, a restaurant, a diving center, 4 local shops, and 02 domestic transfer operators. It also has a health centre. However, the island does not have an ATM yet. In the vicinity of the island it is possible to see manta rays and snorkel with them. The island is surrounded by huge lagoon and numerous sand banks. With 3 different spots, the island's house reef is home to turtles, rays, sharks and a colorful reef fish.
